I dont know about a 29er helping you on pea gravel, I remember the michelin guy saying that when he worked for the rally team when the race was in Perth, he said the only thing that worked for them was a type that picked up gravel, and used the gravel as traction against the gravel, I dont know if that is still the case, if it is relevant, but my take is that nothing hooks up on gravel, its how you ride it, it is definitely a skill worth acquiring. How else do you explain why people form Perth can ride well in MUD. I miss the Perth gravel, it makes the ride so much more challenging. Be well SS
